The 2026 African Congress on Social and Environmental Accounting Research will take place from 2-4 December 2026 at the University of Mauritius. The event is designed to foster interaction, discussion, and debate within a friendly, supportinve, and informal environment.
We welcome interdisciplinary contributions drawing on a wide range of theoretical perspectives. Both full and research-in-progress papers are encouraged, creating space for scholars at all stages to share ideas and receive feedback.
Main Conference (3–4 December 2026)
The main conference will bring together academics, practitioners, and doctoral researchers engaged in social, environmental, and sustainability accounting. It provides a forum for dialogue aimed at advancing research and informing policies and strategies related to sustainable development, particularly in African contexts.
Alongside paper sessions, the programme will include a workshop on publishing in highly competitive international journals, as well as a practitioner forum focused on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the sustainability agenda in Africa.
Emerging Scholars Colloquium (2 December 2026)
The conference will be preceded by the Emerging Scholars Colloquium, aimed at PhD students and early career researchers. The Colloquium offers an opportunity to present and discuss research in a supportive setting, with guidance from an international panel of experienced scholars. It is an ideal entry point into the social and environmental accounting research community.
The conference aims to provide a platform for meaningful discussions and exchange, supporting the development of research that informs policies and strategies for sustainable development in African contexts and beyond.
